More Christmas Scenes

We stumbled on the store of Johann Wanner, a great collector of old glass Christmas ornaments and the molds used to make the ornaments. Oh my, this store was amazing...

You are not supposed to take pictures inside, but Jack took several before he saw the sign.

Yep, it was crowded...

Her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, shops here for ornaments...

And the White House has ordered a few, as well. We didn't purchase anything, not wanting to appear snobby...

The decorated Christmas tree in the rathouse courtyard...

Outside trees at one of the Christmas Markets...

Snow covering the ornaments on a tree...

The long shopping street all aglow...

A flower shop window...

Not sure why the pink pig appears in Christmas finery, with a green fellow on his back. Way back yonder the downtown Rich's department store in Atlanta had a ride for children at Christmas on little pink pigs. Is there a connection?

The size of the misseltoe is amazing. It is sold in big hunks here in Basel, but we could see it on the trees in the woods from the ship on our cruise.

Of course the chocolate shops are festive. One gal told me that the curse of living in Switzerland was that all the family that didn't live here expects lots of Swiss chocolate for gifts!

I tried to give her our address.
